Prepare your container, cleaning it and securing the wick at the bottom. You can use a wick sticker or a dab of hot glue.
Melt the soy wax flakes in a boiler or a heat-safe container placed inside a pot of water. Heat the wax to a temperature of 170-180°F (76-82°C). Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature and avoid overheating.
Once the wax has melted, remove it from the heat and add fragrance oil. Use about 1 ounce (30 ml) of oil per pound (450 g) of wax. Stir well to combine.
Pour the wax into the prepared container, leaving some space at the top. Use a wooden skewer or chopstick to center the wick and keep it straight.
Let the candle cool and harden for several hours, preferably overnight. Trim the wick to about ¼ inch (6 mm) before lighting the candle.
Congratulations, you have made your own soy wax scented candle! Enjoy the soothing scent and cozy glow of your creation.
